We started out with Faith Promise on June 13th.
Our attendance was 66 that day and our Faith Promise goal was $14,000. At
the end of the service the gracious people of Rose Hill pledged $18,084 for
World Missions. Belinda did a mini-faith promise session with our
children and they pledged $176.00 of our $18,084. What a wonderful June 27th was our homecoming. We had 81 in
attendance and we had a full schedule: The Sunday School awarded Riley
Gill with the Second Mile Award; NMI President, Carolyn Mann, presented Rusty
and Carrie Overton with Memorial Certificates of their father, Roger; we
baptized two: Hunter Montgomery and Kathy Blue. We had a wonderful
praise and worship time, including two choir specials, a “short” sermon on
Coming Home and then dinner on the grounds. Cooks, Ron and Billy grilled
hamburgers and hot dogs and our Rose Hill cooks brought in their favorite
picnic dishes. Ron, Belinda, Charles, OD and Sam put up a large tarp that
helped Sunday not be so hot. I want to say a special thanks to Ron and Belinda and those
who helped moving tables and chairs in and out and setting up and taking it all
down. It was a great day! And…June was a great month in the midst
of a great people! 2. Laugh a little Two painters had been painting
houses for over a year, and it was going too slow, and they were very
frustrated. One day one of the painters came up to the other and said."
You know, I’ve been thinkin, we really haven't accomplished much in a year's
work, and it's just going too darn slow. I have an idea. How about we thin our
paint out with water, and that way it will go faster and farther.” Sounds like
a good idea to me”, said the other. So, they went on like this for another year
or so, when one day one of the painters came to the other and said." I
have been feeling very convicted about what we're doing, and I think we should
repaint all the houses that we thinned out with water." "All the
houses!” said the other.” Are you crazy?" Why the sudden conviction?"
"Well,” the painter replied.” Last night I was sleeping soundly, when all
of a sudden I was awakened by this nine foot angel standing by the foot of my
bed. I was so scared, I couldn't speak. But the angel, He pointed one giant
finger at me and said,” Repaint you thinner, and go and thin no more." A cattleman from Thoughts, and words that spring from them, bend the
individual’s reality. To speak of death is to invite it. To think of sorrow is
to produce it.” 4. Helpful websites 100 Incredibly
